The SO.F.TER. customized granule is flame retardant  and completely safe for the health of the players.

With the technical support of SO.F.TER. and Terra Sports Technology specialists, the matches of the Dutch second division football team Oss will be played on the safest synthetic grass pitch in the Netherlands. The new artificial turf system of the Heesen Yachts Stadion, inaugurated in July, has been filled with Holo SP-D Indoor granules, customized according to the specific safety requirements of the customer.

The municipality of Oss, owner of the stadium, and the local fire department have decided to replace the old natural grass field with a synthetic turf which nevertheless ensures the maximum fire protection for players and spectators. Therefore the infill was provided with a special flame retardant feature that allows the whole artificial turf system to meet the strict Euroclass Dfl standards on the propagation of fire. The product also compensates for the non-fire-retardant artificial grass fibre. Moreover Holo SP-D Indoor provides a level of elasticity and shock-absorption never experienced before with synthetic grass due to its composition of engineered polymers and to the patented Hollow infill technology.

The installed granule is free of toxic components and the surface exposed to the sun has a lower surface temperature than the infill products from recycled rubber (SBR) or cork, ensuring maximum safety and allowing also the youth football academy of the city to use the sports facility with no health risks.

Holo SP-D Indoor, finally, is certified according to the requirements of the Dutch Soil Quality Decree which sets strict rules and tight controls on all materials, in order to prevent pollution of the soil. SO.F.TER. is currently the only infill manufacturer that has obtained this environmental certification.

SO.F.TER. and its staff will be at FSB 2013, the International Trade Fair for Sports Facilities which will be held in Cologne (DE) from 22 to 25 October 2013 in Hall 11.2 / Stand R50.
